How to get a GLP-1 medicine: Can I do it without a prescription? 

No. You will need to speak to a licensed health care provider. They’ll talk with you about your health history and goals. If they determine a GLP-1 medicine is right for you, they can give you a prescription.

Why use NovoCare® Pharmacy and what are the requirements?d

The program may be an option for you if you don’t have insurance or if your insurance benefits don’t cover your medicine and you are paying out-of-pocket for your prescription.  


How can I get a GLP-1 medication, like Ozempic®, through NovoCare® Pharmacy?   

Ozempic® requires a prescription. Ask your health care provider if it’s appropriate for you, and, if so, have have them send the prescription to NovoCare® Pharmacy. After the prescription is received and processed, you’ll get a text with next steps to set up your account, pay, and choose delivery or pickup. 


What if my prescriber can’t find NovoCare® Pharmacy in their EHR/EMR system?  

Your prescriber can find NovoCare® Pharmacy by searching for the following information:

Who are NovoCare® Pharmacy partners?  

We work with licensed third-party service providers to assist with patient registration, communications, fulfillment, and delivery. 

AssistRx: A patient solutions provider responsible for NovoCare® access and reimbursement live support program. They manage patient intake and outreach, and offer live support. AssistRx ensures that NovoCare® Pharmacy is the best option for patients.  

CoAssist Pharmacy: Direct-to-patient, technology-driven dispensing pharmacy platform that manages NovoCare® Pharmacy's prescription intake as well as triages to other dispensing pharmacies. 

CenterWell® Pharmacy: NovoCare® Pharmacy’s other dispensing pharmacy responsible for patient accounts, prescription fulfillment, refills, tracking, and shipments.

We have partnered with CenterWell® Pharmacy and CoAssist Pharmacy to handle shipment and delivery of your prescription. Their message will walk you through the next steps to get your medicine.  


Can NovoCare® Pharmacy be used for patients who are just starting their medicine?  

The program can be used for patients paying out-of-pocket at any point in their treatment journey. Your prescriber can submit an electronic prescription, whether you’re just beginning your medicine or already taking it. 


How do I receive communications from NovoCare® Pharmacy?  

When your prescriber submits your prescription, please make sure they include your primary email address and mobile phone number. We will need that contact information to send you communications. 

Once your prescription comes in, processing may take a few days. You’ll get a text with next steps when it’s ready.  


How can I pay for my GLP-1 medication?

After you get our text message, you’ll set up your account with our pharmacy partner. Then you can pay online. We accept credit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and FSA/HSA cards.   


Can I use my FSA/HSA funds to pay for my medicine from NovoCare® Pharmacy? 

Yes, we accept payment from FSA/HSA funds.  


Can I use a copay card at NovoCare® Pharmacy?  

You don’t need to activate a copay or saving card to get these prices through NovoCare® Pharmacy.  


How do I get GLP-1 medication, like Ozempic®, via home delivery through NovoCare® Pharmacy? 

To get GLP-1 medication via home delivery through NovoCare® Pharmacy, ask your doctor to send your prescription to NovoCare® Pharmacy. After the pharmacy receives and processes it, you’ll get a text with next steps to set up your account and pay online.  

Once payment is processed, you can schedule free home delivery. If your prescription is currently at another pharmacy, you can request a transfer by having that pharmacy call 1-833-949-5527. 


What if my pharmacy already has my prescription, but I want my GLP-1 medication shipped to me from NovoCare® Pharmacy?  

You can have your pharmacy transfer your prescription to NovoCare® Pharmacy. Ask them to call 1-833-949-5527, Monday-Friday, 9 am-5 pm ET.   


How long will it take for me to receive my GLP-1 medication, like Ozempic®?  

You can schedule your medicine delivery right after your payment is processed, and you will receive tracking updates after it’s shipped.  


Can I get a 90-day supply at NovoCare® Pharmacy?  

Yes, NovoCare® Pharmacy offers a 90-day supply option for prescriptions. If your prescriber orders a 90-day fill and you request that option, we will send you a 90-day supply.  


Is shipping free, and how do I schedule my GLP-1 medicine delivery? 

Yes, shipping and delivery are free. After your prescriber sends your prescription to NovoCare® Pharmacy and your prescription is processed, you’ll receive a text with next steps to set up your account and pay online. Once your payment is processed, you can schedule your home delivery. 


What if I want to pick up my prescription at my local pharmacy?

You choose where your medication is delivered. We can transfer your prescription to be picked up at your local pharmacy. Simply call 1-833-949-5527 to change your delivery to pickup. 


My medicine arrived damaged. What do I do?  

Please call 1-800-967-9917 right away for assistance. 


How do I receive confirmation for my prescription?  

After your prescriber submits your prescription, you’ll receive a welcome text, along with a number linked to your prescription.

What do I need to do to get discounts at my local retail pharmacy? 

Select “Pick up” and “Continue” above to enroll, and then simply present it at your pharmacy by printing or showing the pharmacy the information digitally. 


How much can I save?  

How much you save depends on factors like what kind of insurance you have and how you choose to pay for your prescription.

Pay as little as $25 for up to a 3-month prescription if your commercial insurance covers GLP-1 medicines. This offer has a $100 maximum savings per month.d

There are self-pay options starting at $149/month if your commercial insurance doesn’t cover your medication, or if you are uninsured.d

If you choose the self-pay option, it means your prescription will be processed outside of your insurance, will not count toward any deductibles, and cannot be applied to any insurance maximum out-of-pocket limits.

Who is eligible to save? 

Savings are available for people using commercial insurance or those who are uninsured/self-paying (not going through insurance) with a valid prescription. 
Unfortunately, the savings offer is not available to: 

  • Patients enrolled in any federal or state health care program, such as Medicare, Medicaid, VA, DOD, TRICARE, or any similar federal or state health care program (each a government program), or where prohibited by law. 
  • Patients who are Medicare-eligible and enrolled in an employer-sponsored group waiver health plan (EGWP) or government-subsidized prescription drug benefit program for retirees. 
  • Government-insured patients may not use this program even if they elect to self pay and process outside of their insurance.

How to get a GLP-1 medicine without insurance: Where can I start? 

If you don’t have insurance (or your plan doesn’t cover your medication), you may be able to use self-pay pricing through NovoCare® Pharmacy or the savings offer, depending on the product/dose and current program terms. 


Where can I find a GLP-1 medicine savings offer? 

Explore this savings offer. Then, make sure to take it with you when you pick up your prescription.

What is the cost of Ozempic® without insurance? 

That depends on the dose and your eligibility for current self-pay offers. This page lists self-pay promotional pricing for certain doses/timeframes and links to a full pricing table and terms for specifics. 

Savings Offer Processing Support for Pharmacists


For commercially insured patients: 

  1. Submit the claim to the patient’s primary insurance first
  2. Submit the remaining out-of-pocket balance to SS&C Health as the secondary payer using the BIN/PCN/GRP/ID found on the savings offer and with an other coverage code 08. 
  3. After applying the savings offer, collect the remaining out-of-pocket cost from the patient as shown on the adjudicated claim.  
  4. Pharmacy reimbursement will be received from SS&C Health.   

If the claim is rejected or not covered by the patient's primary commercial insurance: 

  1. Leave the primary claim as rejected and submit to SS&C Health as secondary payer using the BIN/PCN/GRP/ID found on the savings offer and with an other coverage code 03.
  2. Collect the reduced out-of-pocket amount from the patient as shown on the adjudicated claim. 
  3. Pharmacy reimbursement will be received from SS&C Health. 

For patients who are uninsured or self-paying: 

  1. Submit to SS&C Health as the primary claim using the BIN/PCN/GRP/ID found on the savings offer and with an other coverage code 00 or 01.
  2. Collect the reduced out-of-pocket amount from the patient shown on the adjudicated claim.  
  3. Pharmacy reimbursement will be received from SS&C Health.
