Prior Authorization (PA)
 What is PA and how do I get it?

PA is when your doctor must ask your insurance company for permission before you can get a certain medicine, test, or treatment. Requests can take up to 10 business days, so ask your doctor’s office to submit the PA request as soon as your prescription is written.

How long does my PA last?

Your PA can be valid for anywhere between 30 days and over a year, depending on your coverage. When you get PA, check with your insurance company or doctor’s office for when you will need to renew.

Getting started with Ozempic®

If you have Type 2 diabetes, schedule a visit with a licensed health care provider and discuss your health history. If your provider believes Ozempic® is right for you, along with diet and exercise, they can write a prescription.
