Novo Nordisk offers students with hemophilia and rare bleeding disorders the opportunity to apply for competitive scholarships for tuition to college and vocational schools. Eligible students can follow their dreams with one of five $4,000 4-year college scholarships or ten $2,500 community or vocational scholarships.

College scholarships

Each year, we award scholarships to 15 impressive applicants in the hemophilia and rare bleeding disorders community. Continue reading to find out how you could win free money to help pay your tuition.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this scholarship, you must:

  • Have commercial insurance

  • Be a US resident

  • Have one of the following hemophilia or rare bleeding disorders: hemophilia A, hemophilia A or B with inhibitors, congenital factor VII deficiency, congenital factor XIII deficiency, acquired hemophilia, and Glanzmann’s thrombasthenia

Note: Applicants do not need to be prescribed a Novo Nordisk product to apply.


What you’ll need to get started

Gather the following information before you begin your application:

  • Details on the college or vocational school you’re attending or have been accepted to, including:
    • The address
    • The degree you’re pursuing
    • Your expected graduation date
    • Your cumulative GPA
  • Information on school or community activities you’ve participated in for the past 4 years
  • Your work experience for the past 4 years
  • Physician and hemophilia treatment center (HTC) information:
    • Your doctor’s name and phone number
    • Your HTC name, address, and contact person’s name
  • Any additional documents to include with your application:
    • High school transcripts (required)
    • College transcripts, if applicable (optional)
    • Any documents that support your personal essay, such as letters of recommendation, receipts for tutoring, certificates of completion for preparatory classes, etc. (optional)

  3. Fill out the application and save it as a PDF
  4. Press the “Upload application” button below, and you’ll be directed to a page where you can add your application and submit
